Software/Hardware Skills

In my previous workplace I had the chance of working with Microsoft Excel. I used to take information of remaining stock levels in the warehouse and I had to transform it into easily digestible spread sheets and graphs. Furthermore, as a hobby I used to work with Adobe Photoshop and edit photos simply to express myself artistically. Recently I took interest in FL Studio which is software designed for music production. I am still at the early stages of learning it but so far I am having a lot of fun with it.
At the moment, I have not yet engaged in any programming, computing or cyber security courses but I had a hands on experience with hardware when I built my current computer. It helped me to deeper understand how computers function and made me appreciate the technology we are blessed with today.
If I had to guess as to what kind of software I am likely to use at DMU, Microsoft PowerPoint is at the top of the list. It is a must for presentations. Moreover, what comes to my mind is Microsoft Outlook - am absolutely essential tool for communication. Hardware wise, laptops are without a doubt the most used tool by students. I also hope we get to learn programming languages such as Python and Java because they are a significant instrument when looking for a job these days.
I believe that the experience I acquired so far in photo editing, music and spread sheet software will help me to more easily transition into software development career by allowing me to better understand how to make user friendly interfaces and experiences.
