Charkaoui and Adraoui (2014) state that mobile applications are seperated into 3 groups:

• Native applications
• Web applications
• Hybrid applications
  

 Companies are faced with the decision of which application type is the most suitable for their business. It is common nowadays for companies to choose hybrid applications since they have the attributes of both a mobile app and web app, thus increasing cross platform compatability (Charkaoui and Adraoui, 2014)
