Software example

To test WinRAR's potetial at file compressing I decided to make an experiment on a random file folder from my computer.

Before using WinRAR the folder was at 868 megabytes.

Then I clicked right mouse button on the file folder and was presented with these options. I used the option 'Add to "File folder.rar"'. This gives command to WinRAR to start the compression process.

The whole process took just above a minute, however larger files require more time and vice versa.

This is the end result. Now that folder had become a WinRAR file type and can only be viewed with a compression program such as WinRAR or its competitors such as 7-zip.

We can see that the file size now is 635 megabites, thats a 26% reduction in size. Now these files can be transfered over the internet faster and more efficiently thanks to WinRAR.
