Updated project plan (Gantt Chart)

Image
(Office timeline, 2022)   Gannt chart is a project planning tool that is essential when trying to visually express the projects schedule (Kumar, 2005). I found it to be very helpful, since it is simple to understand. It also allowed me to separate and organise the tasks into more manageable parts. The scholarly journal article titled ' Ethical Guidelines for Mobile App Development Within Health and Mental Health Fields ' talks about the rapid acceleration of mobile health applications in the health industry and the lack of existing guidelines for them. The article explores the dangers of storing individual's health related information online and proposed that password protection should be a standard procedure. It also raised the issue of absence of government policies on mobile health app development, which are being developed at a concerning speed. Jones and Moffitt (2016) in the article suggest that one of those policies should include storing private information on a cloud server that is routinely backed up in case of a disaster. They also mention that offline functions should be implemented to protect sensitive information from the dangers of the internet. The article concludes by saying that the increase of mobile health apps is unavoidable in the mental heal...

To test WinRAR's potetial at file compressing I decided to make an experiment on a random file folder from my computer. Before using WinRAR the folder was at 868 megabytes. Then I clicked right mouse button on the file folder and was presented with these options. I used the option 'Add to "File folder.rar"'. This gives command to WinRAR to start the compression process. The whole process took just above a minute, however larger files require more time and vice versa. This is the end result. Now that folder had become a WinRAR file type and can only be viewed with a compression program such as WinRAR or its competitors such as 7-zip. We can see that the file size now is 635 megabites, thats a 26% reduction in size. Now these files can be transfered over the internet faster and more efficiently thanks to WinRAR.

Shows the location of the folder you are currently viewing.   A list of all the files awaiting for compression, can be sorted by file size, type and date.

Software overview

Overview of WinRAR WinRAR is a type of archyving program widely used to compress data to save time on data transfers or free up the hard disk space (Fellows, 2010). According to their own website , WinRAR has over 500 million users and is the most popular compression tool. It is not freeware, however it offers a free trial. Its main use case is to compress large files to reduce the time it takes to trasnfer them between devices such as phones or personal computers. What is more it can be used as a data encryption tool and sometimes can be used by criminals to hide secretive information (Fellows, 2010). Its biggest competitor is 7-zip, which is open source and free to use (Smith, 2016). WinRAR is compatible with a large amount of devices and its computational requirements are very undemanding (win-rar.com): Windows 11 Windows 10 Windows 8 Windows 7 References: Fellows, G., 2010. Further analysing the survey

Image
Individuals were asked to rate their reliance of mobile applications, 1 meaning they do not rely on apps and 5 meaning that they cannot live without apps. We can clearly see that majority (60%) of survey takers answered that mobile apps are a huge part of their lives. This resuly was very surprising to me since I barely use my phone and the number of people who use their phones 3 and more hours a day actively is astounding (80%). I underestimated peoples time spent on their phones. The answer here was not that surprising since Android OS is dominating the global mobile phone market. Here I asked individual to rate their concern on a scale from 1 to 5 (1 means they're not concerned, 5 means very concerned) about apps collecting their data. And majority of people chose options 4 and 5 which leads me to believe that people nowadays are very concious of their private information. This leads to believe that number one reason people delete their apps is annoying advertisments. People s...
